Learning Rivers is the first reading/writing curriculum designed to help parents become learning experts. In only 100 lessons, children go from learning the letter “A” to reading chapter books! Veteran home school pioneer and learning specialist, Teri Spray, has now created her own reading and writing curriculum using state-of-the-art brain training techniques in a multi-sensory program. Learning Rivers imbeds the learning with pictures, rhythms, games and rhymes.

The clever lessons have characters that guide children from learning a letter by picture and form, to writing the letter with rhythm and sound, to building new words, reading new stories, then writing a story of their own with the new words. Spelling and grammar lessons are included In the Writing River, where children design their own story reader to read and re-read.

To jump into the Learning River, try Level 100 for Kindergarten,125 for 1st Grade, 150 for second grade, and 175 for third grade. Check the Table of Contents for each level to be sure that your child knows all of the sounds from the previous level so that there will not be any gaps in learning. Students can complete an entire 25-lesson level in one semester, working only three days a week, for 30-45 minutes each day! Or, if needed, the entire 100-lesson series can be completed within one year for remediation or acceleration. Rolling down the river of learning has never been easier!

What makes Learning Rivers different?
This program comes from 30 years of teaching dyslexic children to read. It uses current research in procesing skills and whole brain learning. This triggers the memory and imbeds the learning into the automatic memory. Now parents can teach like learning experts.

Any child can succeed with this program becuase it works with every learning gate. (eyes, ears, and hands) The lessons are very simple to teach and colorful. What is Rhythm Reading and Writing?
If you can still sing your ABC’s, you understand how rhythm helps imbed learning. When your child reads to rhythm, the sounds become sharper and clearer. The ear and eye must rise to the challenge of the metronome. The skills are accelerated. Learning comes easier and faster.

When writing and sounding a letter to a beat it becomes automatic in the child. Your child will not have to think about how to make the letter it will just flow. This is current brain research and it has been proven in our learning center to triple children’s progress.

My child hates to write! Now what?
Some children can learn their alphabet shapes with crayons and clay before even working with a pencil. Many pencil-resistant children will become much more comfortable after learning to write to rhythm becuase it brings muscles and nerves together.

Writing Rivers is taught gently step-by-step so children progress at their own pace. They will go from dictating the story to the parent/teacher to eventually writing it on their own. Every child can love to write with this program because they get to use new words and ideas with every lesson.
