Here the child will master the sounds he/she has been learning. We almost always work with the metronome because it causes the sounds and shapes to become automatic. When you are riding the rapids, you can read down the first column, which is single sounds, and then across the rows to blend words together. Lastly, you can read down the third column to master the words that your child can now read! We have put four different metronome speeds at the bottom of the page, this way, if your child needs more practice, you can come back and work on the drills again at faster speeds. This will increase your child's mastery of the sounds and words that they know.
