Writing Rivers Story Journal

The Writing Rivers Story Journal is a companion to Reading Rivers. When a lesson has been completed in Reading Rivers, the student can then open to the corresponding lesson in the Story Journal. In the Journal, students have a Word Bank, where we list all the words that the child can create with the letters learned, as well as the Sight Words that have been learned.

Then, the child can write their own story, and draw a picture to go along with it. We have included Story Starters at the bottom of each writing page to help the child know what they should write for that day. If the parent or child cannot come up with a story, we have "Writer's Block Breakers" in the back of the story journal. This way, there will not be any blank pages.

The best part about the Writing Rivers Story Journal is that the child can take their book around and show the world (or at least their family members) how well they can read THEIR stories. This book gives them ownership and pride in themselves.
